With the delightful sequel still in cinemas, what better way to start the year than with a visit from everyone’s favourite bear from Peru. Ben Whishaw is perfect as the voice of Paddington, with Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, and Julie Walters all great (as usual) in their roles as part of his new family. Nicole Kidman and Peter Capaldi have a ball as the villains.

A warm-hearted treat of a film.
